Female with eggs and nest

Hi Folks,
I saw another post about this subject so I thought I'd share Blanche's story. She is about a year old plakat that's never been mated and every 5 to 7 days she (erm, how to say this politely..!) 'uses' her thermometer like it's a male and squishes herself between it and the tank wall. Then she has 'spasms' *cough* and goes into a trance. After about an hour she drops loads of eggs which she then places into her bubblenest and lovingly tends them.
Pics?
yes of course !!
and a vid :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljSPJPMqGsw
hope you enjoy

How interesting....you should get a video of her spawning with her thermometer too...that would be neat to see....I had a female that did something kinda like that except she didn't make a nest...she did it to eat the eggs...never did get a spawn out of that girl...mean thing...she would attack the males nest and destroy it and go into a corner drop her eggs and eat them...bugger.........lol....

Pretty girl you have too by the way.....

Thanks for the compliments!
She's always been a little 'strange' lol! When I first got her last May she refused to eat for 2 weeks !! then only took frozen foods for another 4 months until I finally persuaded her pellets ARE edible! She flares at Anything, has a full 'beard' and loves bossing the snails about
I wonder if she would tend the nest without a male after breeding? Do females ever do this?
Sadly I don't have the means or motivation for breeding (there were over 100 eggs in her nest) so she'll have to remain frustrated haha!
here's a vid of her erm 'getting her freak on' in her previous technicolour tank:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ks2xcY2lIo
