Clean reptile tank

I believe there was a post similar to this not to long ago, but I cant seem to find it ? anyways..
I just found a realllly cheap 20 gallon tank, It previously had a lizard living in it. What is the best way to clean this tank before putting my fish in. I plan on leaving it setup full of water outside for a week or two to make sure it can hold water without leaking, but what can I clean it with?

Was it made for reptiles or fish? Because a tank made for a reptile may not be put together to hold water for long periods of time.

I don't know lol… is there anyway you could ask the previous owner? I would hate for it to suddenly shatter in six months or something.

haha. That would be horrible! I will have to look into this now. If I can't find out, it looks like it may be going back on craigslist!
