just as sweeda has pointed out dont ever feel guilty they are in a great home compared to what they could have ended up in , amateur young kid wanting to breed just to see baby fish grow, very inexperienced person with no knowledge of the care bettas need to flourish keeping them in cups similar to those they first came in.

Okay that makes me feel better. That is so true Sweeda88, they could have gone to a house where they are kept in those marina half gallon kits! Eeek! Haha plus they will get a bit more water changes to make up for the size difference. Is it okay to use the same filters and heaters? The heaters are aqueon brand adjustable for tanks 5 gallons and up. Would a 3 gallon be too small?

I always have to fight the urge to buy more bettas seeing how some are kept in stores

Just keep an eye on the heaters, to make sure they aren't overheating the water. The filters should be fine, too.

Okay. I will turn the dial to the lowest setting and see what happens if/when I need to get the kritter keepers.
