is a 10 gallon tank to big for 1 betta?

i just got my dark steel blue crowntail (:D) yesterday and im planning on quickly gettings a 10gal for an axolotl, but i also need the money for an axolotl, so im thinking of probly moving the betta into the 10gal in the meantime (i know the axolotl will eat the betta) i have gravel (woo right?) and a plant but ill buy more over time
back to basics, is a 10gal tank to big for my 1 little betta? ):

No, he'll LOVE it! Just make sure you get a heater. Betta's need a steady temp of about 78*.

not too big at all!! he will LOVE it. but if you are fish-in cycling the 10 gal tank, do 2 times a week 40-50% water changes for the first month +, and make sure to have a heater and a filter (might need to baffle it, though)

i have my betta in a 10 gallon and he looves it. yours will too & thrive in it so much more than a smaller tank

here's a pic of mine

You should get a 50 watt heater. That's the perfect size for 10 gallon tanks. Make sure it is adjustable, so you can set it to the exact temperature you want. Marineland makes great heaters.

i have anubias and java ferns because they are easy, you can just tie them on, and you dont need special fertilizers for them to live and grow. :)

Depends on the fish. Some will love all the space, others may be intimidated by it. Sherman, my VT betta would mostly only stay hiding in the back left corner of the tank when he was in my 10 gal community. He now has his own 1.5 gal and he seems happy. My other bettas have liked it though.

I don't think it is the tank size bothering them. You just need to make a well defined boundary of territory for him. In a small tank all of the territory is already set.
