There are white spots on 2 of my new females, I placed them in my 55 gallon community while there 38 gallon finishes cycling. Everyone gets along great, and they are sisters that have been housed together their entire lives. To me they dont look like something is growing, more like something is missing. I know that the mother was white, and the others have white tints to them. But these look more focused on one area. I moved them to temporary places, seperate of course. Im also attaching the best picture I was able to take, sorry if its huge. I think I caught it in time, none of the others seem to have spots on them.

Hi,

Are you referring to the spots near the gills and mid section? Fuzzy looking at all?

Luckily, it's not ich as I thought. Ich starts on fins normally and exhibit salt grain-like appearance. Looks like a bacterial infection however. It seems pretty mild. Have they been injured recently? A teaspoon per gallon of aquarium salt will help them. Make sure you dissolve the salt before adding.

It's not fuzzy, it seems more like scales are missing. But I don't think the aquarium salt will hurt so I'll give it a shot.

The spot on one female is getting worse! It looks like a tan dip by her tail, as it grooves in. I've got each in a .5 gallon quaratine container doing every other day 100% water changes with 1tsp per gallon. The other seems to be doing about the same, just the small 2 holes as shown in the pictures.
