5 gallons is much too small for a sorority. there'd be little room for each female to have her own place. if you want a sorority, 10 gallons or bigger is your best bet.

A 5 gallon with six bettas is extremely overcrowded. As for a 2.5, that's the minimum recommended space for one betta.

As Luimeril said, you can only really have sororities in 10 gallon tanks and larger.

any less than five females, and you run the risk of severe bullying. your best bet, is to get a 10 gallon for five females, or a larger tank if possible. if it's not possible, a sorority is out of the question, honestly.

A space heater is a heater that stands by itself. You use it to warm a room. It just plugs into the wall.
