5 gallon compatibility?
Is there a single fish that is not schooling that I can stick in my five gallon with one betta or should I stick with a snail or two and some ghost shrimp? (a fish that is not another betta)

No, there isn't. Sorry. Snails and shrimp are your only options, but I've heard that ghost shrimp and other shrimp are highly entertaining.

I wouldn't get more than 2 for a 5 gallon.
