Bettas and othe little fish

For my birthday, I wanted to get a tank with a filter and some little fish for my 3 year old betta philip. But I don't know if he would do well with other little fish.

I would appreciate some help!

Thanks guys!

Wow! Impressive, 3 years! :) It depends, if he is very aggressive and flares alot you might just leave him be or get the new tank and just let him go in it! But if he is pretty docile, you could get some snails or ghost shrimp depending on the size of the tank. If the tank is greater than 10 gallons, you could get 1-3 other tiny fish in there with him, like cory catfish. But, I am not an expert at this sort of thing! Might want to wait for someone else to respond. ;)

He's pretty docile, he flares up sometimes. Like if I haven't been around his tank in awhile he flares up at me. but I think he might actually be OK with a few tiny fish.

Pretty much what bettaluver said, cories would be great if you have a 10g to put them in. You cant have any tankmates besides snails in anything under 10 gallons :)

That tank looks nice, but they always make the tanks kind of overcrowded in photos. :P How big is it? It looks nice though. :)

That tank could be a 5 or a 10g... we'd need actual dimensions of the tank.

Like those little fish tanks with filters at the pet store. like at walmart and stuff. their like square 5(give or take) gallon tanks with filters and they always have pictures of little fish on the box....

I dunno. I'll see how it works out.

Yeah, 5 gallons isnt enough to add more tiny fish. The fish on the box of every aquarium is photoshopped in, fyi :P In a 5g you could have a betta and shrimp, or a betta and snails. :)
