Exclamation Betta Trouble

When my betta is eating a pellet, it nods his head for about 2 minutes. is this a bad thing?

Nope. He's chewing. Listen hard in a silent room and you can hear a chomp chomp.

Also, if its that long, the pellet might be too big. My young betta has trouble with them due to his small mouth, so I also use smaller pellets.

to chop it, put it on a hard surface and use the bottom or top of the pellet holder to crack it. It might pulverize it, though, if too small or crumbly.

I LOVE hearing my bettas eat. It makes me happy when they nom-nom away on their pellets. I feed my biggest boy bigger pellets and my smaller two mini-pellets. Neither have any trouble eating.

^ Pretty much what everyone just said, although you could also try soaking them in tank water before feeding for a few minutes, and slicing it in half then because it will have expanded and be easier to chop in half :D
