Thanks guys! It took me so so long to set-up and get the driftwood to STAY in place haha, it still needs a litttle more work, i want to move some of the anubias down further.. but that's about it.
And yes, the rock is way too smooth to tie the string to~ haha, so annoying!!

Just woke up and he is settling in so well already
He doesn't seem 'afraid' of all the space he has at all, he was waiting right at the surface for me and ate 2 pellets right away, and he's got about four different bubblenests going too!!

I tortured myself last night and stuck the heat in my apartment up real high (i like sleeping in cold.. well not cold but not HOTNESS haha) so that he would be warm enough (the aquarium kit was missing its heater so i am still waiting for the store to get another in and call me so i can go pick it up) his tank is at a steady 79 ish degrees right now so i guess it worked!
need that heater tho, grr!

I love your tank... I'm into the natural look, too.

Your rubber band is going to degrade in the water and fall apart. Cotton twine or strips of cheese cloth might work, if you tie it low enough.

Next time you do a big water change and the level is low, tie the plant to the rack as it stands (do not remove it from the tank). Then you should be able to remove the rubber band.

Once the plant is 'trained' and holding onto the rock, remove your tie. :)

At least, that's what I would try.
