It's quite nearly impossible, isn't it?

In which I mean it's impossible to pass up getting a betta fish when you just "stop by the pet store to browse" or... well, what I did was go there for some algae eaters for my granpa's tanks... maybe get a heater if I could afford one before payday....

Yep.

I got two new betta fish. xD

I'll post some pictures soon... But one's a red and orange (with metallic purple accents)... uh... I don't really know what he is. He looks like a CT/VT mix. Help me with that when I get pics?

And the other one is a light blue with dark blue stripes... or maybe she's a bit stressed from the trip. (That's prolly it, lol... poor girl.) I think she's a VT. And she looks no older than 3 months old. Leliia's a giant to her. But the two get along, at least, so that's good.

I named the red male "Uncle" because he's huge. A lot bigger than Jade... and he's very calm, compared to the other bettas I saw there. And yes, calm, not sick. I studied him well.

The new girl... I don't know what to all her. Any suggestions on names? I'm all for the uncommon names (as you might be able to tell ;D ).

Hrmmm . . .

Aunt? :P

It's so hard to resist! I almost got a new VT today, but passed him off since I want to get a HM as a b-day present to myself.

@Fleetfish: LOL that'd make sense, but I see Leliia as more of the aunt, given that she's obviously older than newbie!
And I think I'm counting these two new ones as a birthday present from me to me. Even though my b-day's still two 1/2 months away. :P

@Arashi: Hmm... if only I didn't already have a Jackie. xD;

She is! I really don't think she's older than 3 months. Jasmine-- ... HA! Funny that the pet store owner's name is the same as my fish's! I didn't realize until now. :D But Jasmine said that she just got half her betta stock a few days ago. She said that they don't come from a breeder, but I guess the business in Tampa, FL gets theirs from a breeder or something... I dunno. *ramble ramble*

And I was so worried about Uncle! I gave him a few bloodworms last night... he looked at them, swam into his leaves... I figured he was just a bit stressed from his first day home. This morning I tried to feed him bloodworms again. He didn't actknowledge them whatsoever! I really worried then... and decided to try some other food.
I got out my TetraColor Plus flakes out and dropped one in... And he attacked it. Is it weird for a betta to be picky and hate bloodworms? :D'
I'm glad he's alright though.
