He got new water this morning and I put aquarium salt in with him. I lowered the water level a bit and gave him a plastic plant from my betta's tank, and when I go in to check on him he's always sitting in the plant with his mouth poking out on the surface. He wouldn't eat what I offered him, so I just left the betta flake in with him and I'll take it out in the morning if he doesn't eat it by then. It seems like he can swim alright, but he tries not to.

U saying u added aquarium salt.

I thought u are using Epsom salt? Is aquarium salt can be mixed with Epsom salt?

I thought he got better with Epsom salt?

I used the epsom salt and that helped, in between uses of the epsom salt I was using aquarium salt.

I think he's got a gill disease, so the aquarium salt is helping with that. He still gasps for air at the surface. I treated him with Maracyn earlier after I did a water change.
