RIP Nettle!

Nettlestung passed away quickly last night with no strange or alarming symptoms.. I know that whatever it was, it's likely I did everything I could for him. In the time I had him he made it through all of my novice mistakes and even through the bacterial infection that wiped out three of my precious fish. He was the best teacher for the fish world I could have ever asked for.

Short story.. I feel that Nettle was fated (silly, I know P: ) to end up in my care. Before I took him home he was the only cup on the shelf for a week and a half. No one had bought him. Although I originally wanted goldfish I quickly realized that my tank was not a good size for them.. and my mind went to the little pastel betta in the cup at the store. Without hesitation I left that evening and there he was. I scooped him from the shelf and together we took a whirlwind ride through fake and live pants, tank cycling, water changes, tank mates, and half of the fish dangers out there. I even taught him to eat his soaked pellets from a plastic spoon. He was a good buddy and I'll miss him very dearly.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Sounds like you gained an amazing friend and experience though. Animals are such wonderful teachers. :)
