Quick Question

Should i keep the hood light and filter on all the time? My betta seems less relaxed when the filter is on because it causes a constant current. I also wasn't sure if i needed to turn the light off during the day for a less intense light for a night time effect? ALSO, any suggestions on where to buy clear tubes (or single short hamster tubes) for my betta to be able to swim through? He seems bored...

Nooo don't feep the lighton at night, but during the day is good. What do you mean by less intense? Do you have a window?

From what I've heard, people keep the light on all day and shut it off at night, so the betta has a day & night time going on, like a regular schedule..
& I leave my filter on at all times.. if it is bothering your betta try baffling it.

how would i make the filter current less intense? Put a large plant or decoration in the flow?

Yes, fishman12, i have a window but i keep the curtains closed like 99% of the time so there is not much light.

You can baffle the filter with a piece of aquarium sponge over the flow or you can read through the forum's filter sticky http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=30139

Hope this helps! :)
