Sweet! That sounds amazing, I don't mind the tupperware bins. But my dad just took me to Petsmart and said he'd get me a 20 gallon for my room in our new house (in a coupe weeks), so.... The tank was on sale for $40, (filter, hood, light. :D) and said that I have 30-40 dollars to decorate it. I want to do a theme, but I'm lost... once again. XD Any ideas? I kinda like the deep black gravel and live plant idea... suggestions?

Did he already buy you the tank or are you just planning? Either way, congrats! :) What kinda fish will you put in, will ya split it? :) And yeah, I love that look too! And then some neat neutral caves and decor... that would look great! :)

Nope, Pineapple needs a fishy hotel, (he looks lonely) so it will be him (only betta in the tank) and some other community fishies. Some natural, beige decor would be great, I agree.

Wow, what a lucky betta! :) Wow, you are so lucky! If I had a 20 gallon, I'd split it 4 ways and keep 1 betta in my MiniBow, so I could get a new betta! :) But wow, lucky ducky pineapple! Hmmm... I reccomend Cory Catfish. Although you'll prob need sand somewhere on the bottom of the tank for them, they are great cleaners! Never missed a thing when I had one. :)

Sometimes Pineapple decides to be picky and spit out his food (the pellets need to be soaked for 10 minutes EXACTLY. :l) and some pieces of the pellet fall to the bottom, will the cory eat them if it's betta food?

$10-Tank that comes with filter, light, and is a full gallon.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aquaview-O...-1-ct/10312983

$2-Can get you marble like stones or river stones.
http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=3579447 <--Comes in different colors and shades, you can browse their site.
http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=3579466

Either one will easily cover the bottom of your tank their a full pound.

I like these kinds of plants
http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...mdn=Fish+Decor
which are generally $3, but you can often find them cheaper at places like WalMart and such, and there are always sales on something!

So $10 for tank set-up, $2 for substrate, and $3-$5 for plants leaves you at under $20! With the extra money I'd shoot for some drift wood set up or some other small decorative ideas, or splurge on more flashy kinds of plants.

Good luck!

(I'd also like to note the rubbermaids are GREAT ideas, and WalMart usually has vases that easily hold 2 gallons for $15 or so... They look MUCH classier than tubberwear!)

Heeeey, you want a tank?

I've decided to say "screw it" to having a bunch of teeny tanks all over my apartment, so I'm going to invest in a 20 gallon tank and divide it with plexi-glass over the next week.

Which means I'll have two of these: http://www.petco.com/product/113933/PETCO-Hex-Freshwater-Aquarium.aspx

And I won't need them. I have the original boxes, the filter(s), and replacements. They're in perfect working order, one has scratches (didn't know acrylic was SO touchy) along the top. They're literally less than five months old, both of them. And yeah, I live in an apartment - I don't have room for 'em.

If you want it, you can have it. Even the one without little scrubby scratches. I'll ship it to you if you want it. Because I know if I still have it, I'd no doubt fill it ;) And the point of this is to lessen the amount of outlets currently devoted to my fish hobby (LOL).

I also have a bunch of silk plants I no longer use. I switched to all-live, so these are just sitting in one of my many "fishcare boxes" (boxes full of fish-stuff).

They are:

http://www.petco.com/product/109220/...ium-Plant.aspx

http://www.petco.com/product/109227/...ium-Plant.aspx

Some were never used. If you want, I could throw it in the box with the tank? They're literally only taking up space in my guest bedroom. I was thinking of just throwing them out, so if you want 'em, you can have 'em.

I also have a small bag of:

http://www.petco.com/product/107331/...avelSubstrates

I'm serious about this, too. If you want it, I am willing to ship this to you. No cost to you. So literally, you'd save a TON on your budget, because all of this added up. I just found I have awesome luck with live plants, even in these little two-gallon LED-lit aquariums. I could have it to you by the end of the week.

Let me know.

Sorry if this seems really weird, lol. Some crazy woman on a fish forum pawning off her fish supplies on you.

I just don't have space for it, and if I can find someone who NEEDS it, I'd love to send it out than just throw it out.
