Ginger to boost immune system?

Just wondering. I went with my dad to the drug store and got capsules of powdered ginger root (Yup, nothing else in there ^.^) Because I remember reading it boosts your immune system. Is this true? Because I have a slight cold right now and it's annoying me to DEATH, and boosting my immune system doesn't sound like that bad of an idea right now.

I just looked in my herb book and it said that ginger root can help with congestion from a cold but I didn't see anything about it helping your immune system. I use echinacea when I have a cold.

Hmmm... doesn't? Well, cold or not, I always have congestion. Think I might be slitely allergic to my dog 0.0 But anyways, probably doesn't help with allergies, but it's worth a try!

Also, lately I seem to always have a sore stomach (blah) so maybe it can help with that (read in a few plaves it does and my mom always gives us ginger ale when we have a stomach ach) And it helps with a lot of things, so couldn't hurt to try. Just seeing if it would help to prevent more colds lol.

Look for Echinacea to enhance your immune system. I used to eat candied ginger for morning sickness.

Ginger is great for your stomach plus I find it very soothing when drinking ginger root tea.
I grind some fresh ginger root and boil it in milk and water, then drain it and add sugar... YUM! It's soooo good, I like it with a LOT of ginger but it might be too spicy for some people.

I'm pretty lucky that I don't get sick to my stomach very often but when I do, it's BAD! lol I'll have to get myself some ginger tea.

Candied ginger is awesome, I eat it whenever I can. I find that it helps with sore throats; it has a soothing property to it. I like to grate some frozen fresh ginger root for tea, you get more root if its frozen.
