Red face What kind of Betta is my little boy?

I have never quite cared to figure out what type of Betta my little Jean-Luc was (ie: CrownTail, HalfMoon, etc) cause I was focused on how beautiful my beautiful baby boy is.

Here's a few pictures of him including his baby picture:

I am sorry that they are not the best photos, my fish is extremely stubborn.

Thanks for any and all help you can give me cause I'm really curious what type he is.

Should I get him a little mirror to practice flairing with? Would that help his finnage get more "fuller" if that's even possible? If he played with the mirror too much would he kill himself like he would to another betta boy?

I just got one of those the other day because I have NEVER seen Sumo flare, he half did it, it was kind of pathetic though lolol, he's a big wuss lol
I wouldn't leave it in the tank more than 4 or 5 minutes, you don't want to stress him out too much, but it wouldn't hurt to pop it in for 5 minutes a week or something like that.

Would a little mirror that you put in your purse be good enough? I tried doing the excersize thing right after he got moved back into his bowl and he didnt understand it. (I didnt put it in the bowl)

Flaring at another Betta or a mirror does not hurt them. My Bettas start flaring at each other the second I turn on the lights in the morning until I turn them off at night. You may want to start with a 20 minute a day and work up to longer though. Mine are used to that much exercise where yours may not be. I have over 200 adult males at this time and have been breeding and raising them for over 40 years with no ill effects from flaring.

He's a pretty blue grizzle veiltail. :)

I usually only put up my mirror for a couple minutes a day. Robert isn't very aggressive and he gets scared if he can't "scare" the mirrorfish away from his territory in that time. xD

Oh, that's cute. I have one in particular that will bite his tail if he's not out in the front row where he can see me. I usually shuffle them around or they get put back in a different order than they were before changing out their water and he's been in the back row a couple times and 1/3 of his tail is gone. So he has to stay in the front row from now on.

Awh! That's adorable (and probably also frustrating).
I wonder if there's some kind of genetics that plays into fish developing neuroses (weird quirks). Robert's very prone to them, I've noticed, although he's not afraid of me at all.
