Crash course in female?

Hey guys I've been thinking hard about thins since Kaida and Kalona passed and my family and I want to get more betta's...

Only this time I kinda wanted to get girls or one girl and a boy. (Not a breeding pair I swear!)

So what's the best absolute course of action for a female's care? Also should I find out when the local Petco gets their betta's in?

The female's care is the same as the male's. Also, remember you can't mix a boy and a girl betta together, they will fight.

Okay thanks. I figured they might be the same and I have no intentions of keeping them together. (I know fighting is a big worry but I don't want anyone getting idea's of breeding.)

Lol I totally get the breeding thing though. You definitely have to throw that out there because we will ask haha:)

That is so exciting for your family. My family isn't really into my fish keeping, but it would be so fun to have a "family" fish.

Thanks. XD We don't plan on breeding because of the possibility of how difficult it would be to find good homes for all of 'em and the sheer number.

Thanks again I was actually thinking of looking into Plakat or HalfMoon females. I really love HM's but I'm going to be more stingy when choosing.

I was also going to breed but I decided against it once I really thought of how much work it is.

I loooove females btw, they have the cutest little personalities. Maybe you could get a HM and a plakat :)

I had originally thought of it as well but I decided against it because of just how much work it would be to keep all the fry healthy and seperate the males and females once they showed just what they were.

I like that idea. A plakat and an HM would be pretty ideal for me. I just love how much personality and spunk the girl's seem to have. (They seem to master the Bring Me Home look earlier then the boys. One veiltail female I saw at Petco kept giving me the Look and swimming around her cup trying to keep me in her sights.)

They really do master that look, and it never goes away. My females do it all the time, its like , um I fed you like three times today and your still hungry? Fatty

I definietly plan on getting at least one female. (My mom and dad might still want to get a boy and I might end up with an HM male and a Plakat girl or an HM girl and a Plakat male...We're planning on re-doing the tanks as well. Getting some new decor.)
