Recommended tank size for sororities?

Finally got a answer from my uncle, turns out either he got rid of the aquariums, or my dad lied to me and tossed the fish and got rid of the aquariums himself.

Either way, I won't be getting them back, nor the stand. Sucks.

So, I'll have to buy a new one, though without the stand I have no place to put one, for now I'll just look at tank sizes.

I was going to use a 10 gal, and thinking on a 20 gal.

What tank size do you recommend? (I might still go with 10gal)

And sadly right now getting a sorority is nothing but a dream....some things happened this week, and my hope of building it was shattered :( I've been depressed all week, I even gave up on it.

I still feel like its impossible now, but mom doesn't want me to stop and she says if I give up she'll do it herself and build it right infront of me.

Okay, enough of me being depressing.

What tank sizes do you use? C: I hear "the more the merrier" and I like merry tanks! (plus, I'd like to get 3 corys to go in)

Personally, I favor a 20 gal. for a sorority. That's what I had mine (9 of them) in and it was working out GREAT till the darn tank decided to spring a leak!!! Grrrrr...........

I am using an all wood bureau for my 20H sorority tank. It's super-sturdy and has three good sized drawers, to put all my fishy stuff in. :)

I bought the bureau at a thrifty store. I brought my tank dimensions with me, and a measuring tape, to be sure the furniture I got was the right size.

A 20H tank weights about 160lb full of water (not to mention gravel, etc). Also, some tank manufacturers void out the tank warranty if the tank is not place on what they consider a 'proper fish stand'.

Keep these things in mind when picking a stand/furniture - I hope you have the sorority of your dreams soon. :)

The very minimum is 10 gallons, and you can fit 5/6 girls nicely in there.

20 gallons. Higher rate of success in a larger tank.

I just picked up a 20L to set up a sorority in. I plan on planting it pretty densely and having 5-7 girls.

I think you'll like the 20L for a sorority set up. Gives the bettas more surface area/room to swim. :)
