Nasty brown water, crawlie things, and white goopey film!!

So I guess my 10 gallon is doomed.. lol
.. I guess swishing the new filter in my other tanks old water may have caused it, but i was just trying to boost the cycle..

I do twice weekly 50% water changes and the water that comes out is like yellow brown ish!! SO GROSS, there are these TINY little white small critters on the glass, when i say tiny i mean SUPER TINY.. AND there is this disgusting white gooeyness all over the driftwood.
I had a thread when i notcied the white film, people said it's harmless..
but all 3 of these things??

What is it?? Does anyone know.. and is it harmful to my betta?

i have about 4-5 java ferns and 3 anubias in the tank..

Is the wood actualy driftwood? LIke the super hard stuff it needs to be?

It could be rotting if not.

I suggest cleaning it out and starting from scratch..that sounds gross.

If you have a temp home for your fish, put them there, empty the ten and let it sit for a few days while putting scalding water inside or a really dilluted bleach mix.. Then rinse rinse rinse and redo.

I'm not sure if it's all bad, I'd wait for some more opinions before dumping it. The water could be discolored from tannins from the wood (tannins are healthy for fish), and the black things... I think some people let them live in their tanks and their bettas eat them. I don't think they are always bad.

I don't have any big tanks, so I am not positive, but nothing sounds terribly wrong to me. I'd wait for a few more opinions before scrapping your cycle though! Cycling is not fun! (Or so I've heard :P)
