Red face New Home for Sherbert

Sherbert is now homed with naturgirl. I did everything a could to get him to stop biting his tail. Some new decor, plants, food....the only thing I could not give him was more swimming space. naturgirl has a 20 long with only 2 other bettas in it atm. So she bought a divider and I have her my orange HM then went out to the same store and bought his brother (who has been there for a month in a cup) as a replacement. He is shy and I will have pics of him soon as he comes along.

Naturegirl will start a post a week from now showing Sherberts progress and we will see if he gets better. If so I told her she has the option of keeping him when I move away. If she does then she will have one nice fish ^_^.

This picture is of Sherbert before tail biting on 2-13-2011. He now has just sad strings of fin left :/

I hope he does well in his new home.
I also give you major props for putting your fish first and doing what is best for him.

I don't think anyone really knows. I hear it can be from them getting bored and not having a lot of swimming space. Bettas like to explore a lot and I only had a few decorations on his side of the tank. I was changing it around daily, but that did not help. I really think he just needs a 5-10 gal with lots to do in it for himself. So I am hoping his new home will bring him happiness. His twin bother is going good. Not as shy and flaring every day. I would be so happy if he turns HM like Sherbert.

Stress also seems to be a factor. I have one guy that hates a filter SO much (no matter HOW gentle) he tail bites. He is the one & only guy I have in unfiltered water.
