Tetra's in 1.5 gallon tanks?

Okay so here's another thing my dad wanted to get when we look to get more betta's.

He wants tetra's of all things! TETRA'S! I love the little guys don't get me wrong and I have secretly wanted to own tetra's ever since I was little....The problem is I have to think of the betta's first and the tetra's well being. I know they need a group of at least four or five and in those tanks depending on the tail size and how old my betta's are will they be able to corrospond with each other without a death brawl?

Also will females get along better because their smaller then the males so they won't be as cramped or should I just tell my dad I don't like the idea? (I had to tell explain to him that a Cory Cat was out of the question...He wanted other fish in the tanks besides betta's to make a better enviorment..I'm not sure how well that could turn out.)

So there's my question, my concerns and mostly my need to know.

Because honestly I'm beginning to like the idea. I'm just worried Ms. or Mr. Betta will come along and nom on the little guys.

A tetra can never be in a 1.5 gallon tank. ever.

The minimum size is 10 gallons and you need at least 4.

There is nothing else that can be added to anything up to 2 gallons. At 3 gallons you can maybe add a shrimp, or ADF.

Thanks! Then I'm saved and my dad can't object! (My mom already put her foot down as well. She just wants one betta per tank.)

Good for you both. I know how tempting it can be but you always have to keep in mind the health and happiness of your little guy.

Oh definietly. We spoil our pet's pretty well so our betta's are going to have the best we can offer them. Places to hide, the best food I can get them and lots of love.

I had a tetra in a 1.5 in QT/isolation because his pallies died...
He did alright, but that was just him in there D:

(He had six mirrors around the tank...so he thought he had friends! X'D )

Yeah, other than tank size though you could get either corys or tetras as they get along with betta. I think some tetras might be fin nippers though so you need to be careful. But as others said, unless you get a bigger tank more fish aren't an option.
