I got a huge tube of sealant at my LFS for $6.00. And I mean HUGE.

Granted, it's black XD But clear was the same price- I just didn't worry about color because it was for repairing my plants/gluing the report binder edges to my divider.

IDK about the plants, I think if you soak them for a long time (and by a long time, I mean a couple days at least) and they don't run or anything that you'd be fine to use them, but I'm not sure....

Yup pretty much, if you haven't put them in yet leave them soak for a good few hours or leave them over night just to be safe. I have black and red silk plants for my bedroom and when they got a bit dusty I run them under the shower, the amount of dye that came off them was shocking I thought I was going to end up with white flowers haha
