Luna's tank! :)

Just wanted to show off the nice new sand look! :) I think it's cute. Does anyone know how else I can clean the sand besides a net? (Because that isn't working very well... ;)) Hope you like it!

Very cute!! I'm just curious, but what is that temp. thing on the side of your tank?? Does it really tell you the temperature of the water??

Haha, thanks! And erm... yes and no? It's kinda hard to read, but it tells me the temp between 2 degrees. right now it is 78. Ish. Haha! I'll get a reeeeal thermometer soon, I hope! ;)

When I had sand I cleaned it by using a siphon, hold it just above the sand; not too close and it will suck the mulch right off. Sand is pretty tricky to clean but when you get the hang of it, it gets easier :) also remember to stir it every now and again, this will prevent anaerobic gases from building up :D It looks good :)

This is what I do. In between water changes I use a little bulb syringe thing to spot clean around my plants and stuff. You can also use a turkey baster.

I'm sure OFL has a DIY version with chopsticks, I never understood that method though :s

Very nice! I'm thinking of getting sand for my 5 gallon. Either that or natural looking pebbles. I'm sick of the dark blue gravel with neon pieces mixed in.

Wow, thanks so much! That was helpful. :) I'm glad you think it looks nice! I was so excited when it settled because the tank had a 100% water change and everything was perfect, temp and all. :) I really like it! Hmmm... what's a turkey baster? Sorry, I really don't know! ;)
