Nippy Swordtails

I have a 10g and 2 swordtails. I used to have my boy P.J. in there, but the swords nipped at his tail and now he is in his own tank. I really don't like having 3 fish tanks in my 10 by 10 room. It is already starting to smell fishy (yes they are clean, but they're fish right?). I was wondering, If I moved my female plakat with short fins into the 10 gallon and my boy into the 2 gallon? do you think the swords would nip at her? Please give your honest response! Thanks

I think it depends on the personality of the swordtails. Some of them will nip at bettas, some won't. I would try your plakat in with them. Just keep a close eye on them and pull your female out at the first sign of trouble. Good luck!

Ok thanks, I will move her next week probably. I just did a 100% water change and totally scrubbed everything down in her tank and its all crystal clear. It looks pretty so I am gonna move her when I need to do another WT.

If they've already nipped at another Betta, I wouldn't put any Betta with them, no matter how short their fins are.

But that was a male with long fins. My female has short ones and she is fast to get away. Anyways, I have another tank set up and ready for her if all else fails....I think I'm going to try it anyway....
