Smile Meet Trevor

I picked up my first betta this evening. He seems very happy in his new home at the moment, will post a pic of his house later today. He's quite an active fella and doesn't seem to mind that he's sharing with Dave the shrimp. I've noticed that his colour isn't all over, his head is quite dark and non "sparkley" with a hint of red. Will he always stay like that or will he develop?

I'd love to get more but don't have the room :( I already have a large tank in my living room and now Trevor in the kitchen. He's not far from the kettle so I can watch him while I make a cup of tea lol

Heh, I suppose there's space in the bedroom but a fishie wouldn't get appreciated as much there :/

Anyway, here's another shot of Trevor. His dark head is really obvious here

Wait I thought masked was when the head was the same color as the body?? Most of mine have dark heads while the rest of their body is bright and beautiful. I may be totally wrong but I thought I read that somewhere. Like my dragon bettas are masked because the white on their body is also what their head is rather than their head being darker like most bettas?

And your betta is very cute!! :)

@abby i totally agree with you about how addicting this hobby is! :) on feburary, i got my first betta, he was a delta tail. Then, i went to petco to get him a new tank, and brought home another betta! and afterwards, i brought home 3 more bettas! In one month, I went from one betta to 5, hahahha :) i might get a female betta tomorrow XD

Wow, I love Trevor's tail! He's splendid! :D

His head is quite like my Friedrich's was;

Over time Freed's body darkened as well until he looked like this;

But I still thought he was beautiful. :)

So yeah, his head will probably stay that way. Many bettas have that trait.
