So about two weeks ago now me and my boyfriend brought home a female betta and named her quin. We have in a 30 gallon tank with a half moon male betta, 2 pictus catfish 2 stripped Raphael cat fish, 3 emerald cory cat fish, 3 coral Cory cat fish and 2 Julie Cory cat fish. ( all of these cat fish are between 3 months two a year) and way so when my female betta came home she was very keep to herself and gradually her an my male, (harvey) started following each other around. Now I'm scared she might be pregnant her belly is quit in larged and she is just sitting on the floor in the tank. Has anyone ever seen this before?
Ok so it is not a good idea to keep a male and female betta together. If they do spawn, the male will try to kill her afterwards. Betta don't get pregnant per say. She may be full of eggs, but she will face no ill result if she doesn't release them. They will be absorbed back into her body.
I strongly recommend that you separate one them into separate tanks. They shouldn't even live in the same water system, as hormones in the water lead to stress for both parties.
You cant keep male and female Bettas in the same tank. You need to remove her from the tank at once.
