Archimedes came to me with parasites and fin rot. We triumphed over those. The base of his pectoral fin became inflamed one day. It then turned white and fuzzy. Salt didn't help. Antibiotics didn't help. We even tried fungicide, just in case. After battling the infection for two months, he developed dropsy and passed away last night.
I'm sorry I couldn't save you Archimedes fishy! I tried so very hard.
Archimedes would always greet me at the front of his tank when I came to visit - even when he was down to one working pectoral fin. I'll always remember how, when I bought him a betta hammock, he didn't care for the leaf but loved the suction cup so very much! I'll also remember how he would squeeze into the tightest, most awkward spots within his tank, even if it involved swimming upside-down and on his side. Archimedes was my little contortion artist. I'm going to miss him tons.
