Matchmaking Skills

so I am running an experiment to test my matchmaking skills. So I took a few bettas from one of my friends and found their soulmate. Now I need you guys to tell me if they are good matches.

LOL I didn't know you were going to use all my bettas and find their soul mates from AB... Ideally a "soul mate" should be their sibling. This way the genetics are known and stable. Occasionally you will outcross, but for now, I'm gonna say that all these guys have their matches ;)

I do like the colors of the last male, but he's a rose tail so I wouldn't breed him...

Actually I wouldn't call him a rosetail.. all his rays are very straight. He looks to me like an OHM not fully flared. I wouldn't hesitate to breed him to a very lightly branched female. I would not, however probably breed him to that female (even though I love her!)

I don't know a darn thing about breeding, but they are all beautiful! I was just curious, why don't you want to breed a rose tail?

Rose tails usually go hand in hand with certain genetic issues and are just not preferred at shows right now.

Personally I don't like the look of rosetails at all. I prefer to see very smooth caudal edges and very straight rays.
