If he is still alive, ask about euthanizing him, if it's possible and if it is necessary?
I sure hope not, i'd want to do anything I can before doing that.
He's so cute!
Poor thing. :(

I'm sorry this happened!
I guess curiosity gets to snails too like cats...

Sadly the poor little guy did not make it. He had to have suffered internal damage and the shock combined with the excess handling needed to try fixing his shell was probably too much. I read that when this happens and they have internal damage they can secrete toxins that can kill them. This was the case.

I did order a bunch of less curious but highly efficient Olive Nerite snails so lets see how they handle that stupid brown algae that the Apple snail won't deal with.

Im sorry about him :c

Be warned though- Olive nerites are notorious for tank hopping. Idk if you have a lid or not on that tank, but you really need one.
Also, as soon as the tank is not they way they want (levels of toxins too high, too cold/hot) they will try to make an escape. Mine did once, she almost made it...

Fun times. Well, I keep close tabs on my tank and they have lids. This guy made a break for it and went upside down and out the area where the filter is. It is a bio wheel setup. I will have to do some battening down of the proverbial hatches. Many thanks for the heads up! Much appreciated.
