The only thing I can think of is a Betta. Why not just get another Betta for it?

A dwarf gourami can be kept singly in a 10 gallon, but anything too small for a betta is too small for any other fish.

I just got a fancy goldfish myself, and people told me that the absolute minimum is 20 gallons. He's a little over 2 inches now, but I think he'll get big really quickly. Also, they're messy!

Can you post a link to the tank you want?

Commons need 55-70 gallons at least. Commons 20-30 depending on size, though most are fine in 20. Goldfish seem to like groups, though they aren't necissary.
