Question is this tank any good?

hello, i am looking into buying my first siamese fighter (been looking on the internet for a nice import) and wondering if this tank would be suitable?

http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aq...ref=googlebase

or would this be better?

http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aq...ref=googlebase

went into lfs today to get some plants for my goldfish and found she has had 3 imports in! all 3 are ct (my fave), one had sold and i was finding it hard to chose out of one that was a royal blue with red on the edges of his fins and the other has a white body with bluey/pink fins!

until i put my finger up to the glass and the white body one followed my finger back and forth then flared! hes got character, i love it! will be going back there to put deposit on to hold until i have got a tank sorted. he is only 4.95 too, bargain!!

thanks in advance :)

I'd go with the second one, since it has more space. It's really nice looking!

19 liters (5 gallons) is a perfect size tank. Do you have a filter or a heater??
(FYI, not to be mean but no one calls them siamese fighting fish, everyone calls them bettas.)

5 gallons is too small to add any other fish, but you could get a snail or a few ghost shrimp.

3 gallons is WAY too small for an otto. Plus, they NEED groups of at least 3. I would never recommend keeping an otto in anything that small.

It's acceptable to call them fighters. Especially in Europe and UK no one hardly ever calls them Bettas.

To have a proper school of neon tetras (which would be at least 6) I would recommend at least 10 gallons (sorry I don't know the metric conversion). The bigger your tank and the more tetras you have the happier they will be because in nature they swim in schools of hundreds of fish so they can develop issues in too small of a group.

Welcome to the forum by the way :)
