My 10g

I currently have a 10g tank that I'm adding my 3 females into tonight. Gen (RIP) passed away today and I'm getting a white dal as my replacement. I'm also thinking about getting 1-2 more females, should I just add them into the 10g or should I keep them seperated? And for how long? Please let me know.

I wouldnt add them tonight, I would wait until you had more. I believe 4 or 5 is the ideal number. Even in a 10g, the three will still chase eachother relentlessly and you will have greater trouble with them.

I dont really know much else on that, though..

That I dont know... Im sure someone will come by, though!
If you mean like while waiting, Id say just long enough until you get the number of girls youre going to have for good.
Search "sorority" in the search bar and see whatcha get :)

IMO it's better to immediately put females together while they are still stressed from the bagging and journey to your home. There should be less fighting - determining who's the alpha. If you put them in solitaries first, they will gain their self esteem and are more likely to fight for dominance when put together.

Hannah, I recently made my 10gallon sorority at the beginning of this week. Two females I already had, and the other three I bought when I got the tank. I filled up the tank and placed some plants and hiding spots in it, waited a few hours to let the water temperature set to room temperature. After that was over, I added the three I bought that day first, then I added my two females I've had for a while. The two I had for a while fought each other the most, but they all get along now. Hope that helps :)

I'm going Friday (I Hope...) to replace Gen (RIP) & Mango (RIP)... I'm getting 2 girls (I already have 3, 2 are more agressive with each other, the other girl is very submissive) so, should I add the 3 I have now first, or add the 2 new girls I'm getting? Reason I'm asking is because I hear you should watch them by themselves for a few days or 2 weeks to make sure their healthy.. Ah... I don't know what to do x.x...
