5 gallon tankmates?

Okay, so I am getting my new 5 gallon tank sometime this week (when ever they finally decide to make it to walmart with the goods...) and I was thinking about getting one or two tank mates for my betta Fishy. I saw some fish at walmart that look like Kuhli loaches, but I am not entirely sure I would have to go double check. But I was thinking about getting one of those and a couple ghost shrimp to go along with Fishy. Would this be a good idea? I've seen a lot of posts about 10 gallon tanks, but I don't have one that big, lol. Also, if I was to change my mind, what kind of fish would I actually be able to put in there with Fishy? I don't want a lot of fish, just a couple for now.

No other fish in a 5 gallon. Shrimp (red cherry, blueberry, ninja, crystal red, bee, bumblebee, ghost, amano, etc...) are your only options (besides snails, and Maybe ADF's)

I agree with Shiny Betta. 5 gallons is only big enough to add snails or shrimp. If you wanted to add fish I would say 10 gallons is the minimum.

p.s. ADFs are African Dwarf Frogs by the way, just in case you weren't sure :)

Thank you for the advice! I was not entirely sure if I would even be able to have tank mates with such a small tank, so I am glad that I had you guys steer me in the right direction. I will be getting a couple ghost shrimp or a snail (debating on a mystery or apple).

LOL, mystery and apple snails are the same thing!

Lol, I had no idea>.< (Noob here) I was just looking at different pictures off of google images, lol.

I was wondering how many shrimp would be acceptable for my size of tank. I was just thinking of 2, but like I said, I am a noob lol.
