Exclamation Sick, Stressed or Stripped

I was shopping for food and water test strips and i found a female who had 3 black stripes running down her sides. I figured she was just super stressed and brought her home to give her a chance. Well, shes in her new tank and shes been eating and swimming normal, but the black stripes are still there. Iv'e tried leaving her alone with the lights off and shes nowhere near any other fish. Is she sick, stressed or just a striped fish.

She may need a little longer to settle in

I have a striped female. Look in my album on my profile. They are her natural colouring. I often see striped females at my LFS and LPS. Yours probably has natural colouring. If they are that dark and not fading, then I am almost 100% that they are natural.

Blackberry betta: I believe that the stripes on Kaydowson's betta are the vertical stress stripes. I saw the girl on your album, she has horizontal stripes, those are different.

They are striped at the store because they are stressed….

Where did you read that the striping is natural?

I posted pics and lots of people told me there were natural including OFL. Don't be so fast to judge... There are such things as striped bettas you know. I know that they aren't stress because I keep another betta in the same tank (divided) and he isnt stressed at all. I take care of him the same too.

I wasn't judging. I meant in the store they are mostly striped because they are stressed out.

That is why I asked where you heard that, because I never have and was curious. I wasn't judging lol :)
