Going to take my time and look for the most awake, hyper-active little guy there. Once saw one that looked like it wanted to attack my blue nail polish lol!! Hopefully there will be another one like that. Thank you all for all your help, much more comfortable with everything now that i know what to look for. Promise I will take loads and loads of pics and post them!! :)

Another quick question.... I saw Penguin Fish and thought it would be nice to get some... do you think it wise to keep it with my betta?

Right off the bat I can tell you no. Not in a 6 gallon, they need at least 6 friends, actually more is better, and they can get quite big (2.4in)- which is way too much for the tank.

They also like temps on the lower-mid 70's, which your betta wont.

I dont think they can live in anything under a 10-20 gallon, 10 being maybe too small, even. Their diet is a bit fickle, too.

If you want a tank mate, get a snail or two. Shrimp would be ok, but in a small tank they might become a snack. Frankly, no other fish can live in a tank with a betta under 10 gallons, except another betta in a minimum of 5.

If you get a 10 gallon, get some tetras..theyre cute like the penguins and are much easier to care for <3

Thanks PewPewPew!! I'm thinking i should first wait a while and figure out what kind of personality my little guy has before going ahead and get tank mates for him/her. Will keep an eye out for tetras though, thanks for the tip

And here he is.... As promised... my new little guy... as yet un-named... reffering to him as Sweety or Scooch for now... still getting used to taking pictures so he might look like 2 different fish but i promise... it's the same guy. What do you think?
