Tumour?

Any thoughts about this? Am hoping it's something curable, but the fear is that it's a tumour and he'll be on his way out soon. Thanks for your help.

poor baby. D: it looks like a zit, so it could very well be a tumor. D: sometimes, they just look ugly, and don't hurt the fish, but sometimes they grow and do hurt them. it pains me to see a beautiful dal like your boy, with a bump like that. ;A;

i've heard of tumors being shrunk with meds before, but i'm not 100% on how, or what was used.

He's eating, behaving normally. Doesn't seem to be bothering him otherwise.

No ideas? Additional information. In a 2 gal/heated tank, weekly water changes, 1/4 tsp aquarium salt, is active, eating, and pooing. Seems otherwise normal. This thing seemed to come on over night.

No ideas? Any help? He's still doing well, but afraid that could turn. Don't want to miss something that might be treatable.

Sorry I don't know. I thought someone would have had an idea by now. Maybe try sending a pm to OFL (OldFishLady). Good luck!

I have no idea how to treat it but I would cut out the aquarium salt if you are using it with every water change. I know the common view on here is that after 10 days of use it can become harmful to your betta. It should only be used to treat illnesses (you might be using it for that but wanted to make sure).

I would say that as long as its not obviously growing and he's behaving normally, then you should leave it be for now. If it is a tumor Im honeslty not sure if there is anything that you can do.

I read somewhere on line that it might also be an infection. With an infection though, it seems I might expect to see him clamping or lethargic or something? For now I'll keep up with water changes.

Hmm, it does look like a zit... all I can think to do is up the water changes to make sure it's extra clean. Poor thing. At least he's acting healthy!
