Very swollen tummy! & Female with no eggs?

Ok so for the male...

Housing
What size is your tank? 5.5 Gallon.
What temperature is your tank? 79*
Does your tank have a filter? Yes.
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No.
Is your tank heated? Yes.
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? Divided with another male.

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Aqueon Betta Pellets & Bloodworms for treats.
How often do you feed your betta fish? 2 Pellets in the morning & 2 in the night.. 1 bloodworm on water change day.

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? I've been doing 2 a week but will soon be cutting it down to 1 a week when my tank finishes cycling.
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 50%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Prime.

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? He has a very swollen tummy!
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? It hasn't
When did you start noticing the symptoms? It happens once a week.. I find he will be fine for 5 or 6 days then all of the sudden I notice his belly is HUGE then the next day it's fine again..
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? I tried fasting him but it still happened so I don't know what else to do.
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Nope.
How old is your fish (approximately)? Bought him the beginning of February.. but I'm not sure..

I notice a lot of pictures of girls have their bellies full of eggs even when they aren't being conditioned.. My girl has never seemed to have eggs ever.. I'd say she's 4-5 months old.. She's in a filtered and heated 3 gallone tank by herself.. I feed her the same as my males.

not too sure whats wrong with ur male... it could just be a bloat... u may want to qt him tho if he starts showing any stress signs... also have u checked ur paramaters, as for the female if shes not conditioned she might not get a tummy full of eggs... and unless u plan on breeding her thats not a problem... I give mine blood worms every other day or so and i thaw out a chunk and then give them enough to eat for about a minute... hope that helps... good luckk
