Betta fish 10g tank

So has anyone tried putting their betta fish alone in a ten gallon tank? How did it work out? Were they happy with all that space to theirself?

I was contemplating maybe upgrading to a nice 10 gallon kit I seen at petco, perhaps maybe adding a couple snails and shrimp also

I have both of my boys in their own 10 gallon tanks and they like it alot and definatly use all of the room.
The bigger the better, just make sure to get some live plants and cavey things and stuff so that he doesn't feel overwhelmed in all the open space.

my boyfriend's betta actually seems happier alone in his 10 gallon, seeing as he ate 3 shrimps and killed a cory to get it that way.

snails are little poop machines, but I find them kind of amusing. if you're planning on doing any live plants, I know there are some species of apple snail that will mow them down, and probably some other types of snails as well, so make sure to check beforehand. and some betta get along just fine with the shrimp, my boyfriend's is just a vicious little brute, lol

I'd really like to add shrimp in there with him, but I'm quite afraid he is going to have a nice dinner with the ghost shrimp

I'd say just get 1 at first to see how he reacts to it
apparently bigger ones are less likely to be eaten, but they're generally older, and don't have a very long lifespan, so it's kind of a tossup

Is there possibly another kind of shrimp that would do well with him in a 10 gallon?
