Unhappy what is wrong with my betta??

I recently(4 days ago) got a blue male Betta named Merlin. I put him in a 1gallon tank with a hood and a light. I fed him that night and he did not eat, the next morning the same problem and so on. He has not eaten at all since I got him and i was wondering if he is sick or something? please help, thanks
Cheyenne
p.s.
i have also noticed that he is swimming very close to the floor and today he hid all day in his corral log. is that normal?

he may be either cold or he's still adjusting to his new environment :P my first betta moonstone did that same thing when i first got him, but later that week, he started to eat and become more active :) you should contact some professionals such as turtle10 or oldfishlady, i find them a great help :)
