Acoustic's favorite place is by the filter and he always ends up getting stuck on it.
I don't know if he doesn't seem to notice it or what, but i'm afraid to leave the filter on when i go to school.
Is there any ideas on how to keep him away from it so I don't have to always check on him every 5-10 mins??
OFL - some of the times he's able to, but there has been a couple
situations that I've had to help him out. He's healthy and somewhat active.
His fins are kind still okay, only little bits are gone.
He lives in a 10 gallon and sadly no plants yet, only 2 fake plants.
Oh and the filter is a Penguin 100b filter
CrowntailxKing - hmmm that's a pretty good idea lol i never thought of that.
I'll probably give it a try, thanks :D
Can the filter flow rate be turned down any.....the hose idea will work to keep his fins out of the intake but he may still get stuck to the intake, however, it may be easier for him to get himself off of it
Does he seem to put himself on the intake or is the water flow pulling him to it...I ask because I have had Bettas that would go to the intake as if to enjoy it in some way...lol....but they could always get off of it on their own....you could maybe try placing things around the intake to keep him away...like large decorations of some type so its harder for him to get to it yet it can still function properly.....just a thought....
I have the exact same filter. My VT sometimes goes near it and it suctions his tail, but he has no problem getting away from it. I don't think it causes any damage. In fact you can see him hanging out by the filter intake in my avatar.
