Yup! Deep-sea fish with a sea through head. Kinda cute really super freaky.

I kinda hope it turns up on Animal Planet someday. Would make for an interesting sagment on Weird True and Freaky no?

lol you can't own one, i think there atleast 2 feet long. For all we know there endangered cause they just found the first live one la few years ago., a bunch of mangeled ones have been found in fishing nets but thats it.

Plus, I dont remember exactly how deep it was but it was VERY deep in the ocean, light would severly damage it and that far down theres a TON a TON of pressure. putting them in an aquarium isn't enough pressure.

Unless it was like the Georgia Aquarium or something. They have an 88 MILLION gallon aquarium with a whale shark!

they're probably not endangered. the barreleye is a fish that lives in the abyssopelagic zone. the fish are there are few and it is hard to find them. so there is a chance that it would be considered least concern on the scale of endangerment.

Geez, guys. Im not saying you'd actually own one, haha. Wow...

And no, theyre not endangered, and this isnt a super new creature, a new type of a similar kind of fish, yeah- but there are many others like it, though this species recently discovered.

Just was freaky, calm ddooowwwnnn everyone XD

That's so weird and awesome. I didn't realize until I read about it, the "eyes" are it's nose! It's eyes are under the green parts.

That's nuts!
