puzzle playground...stay with me now

After reading the many great ideas on here, thought I would share one of mine. I bought a blue cup betta (who also turned out to be a tail-biter) on impulse. I knew about a lot of the basics and had my old setup on hand. He's in a 2.5 gal with heater, hood, and two plants. I wanted a tunnel or cave but he hated the coffee cup, and the coconut (both of them) and the ship I had...so I went in search of hamster tubes and came across these puzzle playgrounds for hamsters...they click together and have multiple options for size and shape. So he got a house and a triangle tunnel and loves them. I just popped out random pieces so I can swim through wherever. And they are perforated so I plan on just covering them with moss to make them squishy! Glad I finally found something that makes us both happy. I've been reading this and other sites for weeks and can't wait to upgrade to planted tanks and the like. It'll be a little while though. Thanks for all the great advice.

Aw, that sounds cute. I can just imagine him peeking out of a little mossy house.

I've seen hamster tubing used a few times before, but never a set of them connected together! I hope you can take pictures, 'cause I'd love to see that.

Welcome to the forum!

Just make sure the tunnels arent too long while connected so that they can get up for air when they want/need to, I did this with mini pvc and both boys herped a derp and couldnt quite figure out (after falling asleep inside) how to get out and had a spaz. ^w^;

That sounds really cool. Do you have any photos of it in the tank?
