I usually condition for 1-2 weeks depending on time demands. Two weeks is probably best. It's also like to give them live california blackworms. As with other live foods, you have to make sure the seller is reputable; live foods always carry the risk of parasites. Fish specialty stores are pretty good about it.
Happy Betta Keeping :)

My bettas are pretty much always in condition to breed, however if I want to give them a little extra boost prior to breeding I'll feed them live or frozen foods plus Atison's Pro for 7-14 days with daily water changes... sometimes even two water changes a day.

I thought they discontinued Attison's Pro (to my dismay)? Are you still finding it? It is great for conditioning and raising the fry on.

It's still available for sale on the IBC website. I believe Ocean Nutrition has a contract with the IBC so they get to sell the remaining stock. I'll be very sad when they run out of it.
