I also heard something about banana leaves? i have some dead leaves in my backyard. Are all types of banana leaves okay to use or just certain ones?

I've heard about banana leaves but can't remember what. I do know that you'd want to make sure they're free of any chemicals or pesticides but that goes for anything you put in. Oak IAL, Oak leaves, etc.

I'm just really impressed with the amount of information and helpfulness here...what a great forum!

Just my opinion - I would stick with the spring water. I couldn't get close to clearing my tank with my conditioned tap water. Once I switched to spring water, it cleared immediately. It sounds like your local water may be suspect, too.

Hope all the fish show improvement soon.
