Killer Fish Tank

Last night I was finally able to set up the 10 gallon tank. I put my telescope eyed goldfish in and it acted like it was enjoying it until an hour later he just was floating around dead. This wasn't a huge surprise since he was looking sickish the night before. I waited about an hour later and changed my betta's water. I put Daniel in first while I changed his water and put him back in his tank and he swam around fine then put scampi and did the same thing.

After wards they were both swimming around in there tanks as happy as can be. But this morning I woke up and both were dead.

I used the hose from outside to fill up the tank, put in chlorine remover (exact amout, the thing I have always used for my bettas.) and let the water sit for about an hour and a half, what could be wrong.. :((

Was the water well water or city? Well water could kill fish depending on the amount of iron in it.

Some water hoses have anti fungus/mold type product in them to keep the hose from getting fungus and this product can be deadly to fish.......

I use well water that is high in iron not to mention the added iron from the clay I use in my tank and have never had a problem with fish deaths....

Sorry for your loss....

They are not safe for US to drink water out of AND older hoses can actually generate cyanoid chemicals as the rubber rots.
