Filter intake to strong?

I recently set up a 5 gallon divided tank, it seems my betta on the side with the filter has a hard time swimming with the filter on. Is there something i can do to decrease the filter intake, oh it is a none adjustable filter 5-15 gallon tetra filter.

ok thanks i read that earlier. i just used some of the material that i used for the divider and wraped it around and zip tied it and it seems to work.
