That 20 gallon 4-way tank is really cool.

That article was disturbing...at first I thought, ok the biorb is a good size, they're interested in plants, they advocate frequent water changes, what's the problem? But then I got to the part about the female eating the male, which was just completely nonchalant and out of nowhere

Haha, oh man. That article is hilarious, in a really bad way. But the tank is really neat! Wish I had thought of something like that, but with four males, and they wouldn't be able to get through the pipes.

This comment was win. :D

And I'd like to do something like that with my 20 gallon... except my turtle's occupying it right now, and probably still will be for the next 50+ years. xD

Since each male is in his own compartment and only the females can swim back and forth between two compartments, I think it's kind of cool. Must be a job to keep it clean though. My fear is people who don't know bettas trying to slap one together and making a mess of the job. Recipie for disaster in so many ways...fighting fish, rough edges, poisonous glues...

The betta in a biorb can be very happy. Even if it is getting some food and at least occasional partial water changes. The hermetically sealed ecosystem is a great idea in theory. I'm not sure anyone has really gotten one to work well in practice.

I'm not denying, that 20 gallon idea is awesome. I mean, hey... more to look at, interesting, different... sort of gives the females something to do like... like teleportation to another dimension or *enter some lame sci-fi nerdy comment here*
But I agree... if someone else decides to do this and doesn't know not to actually have the males separated from the females... or each other... ... yeah, disaster. As well as bad construction of the dividers.

I've been wondering about my BiOrb because of the filter it has (and getting a decent heater that isn't lame to fit in there) and... well, I've been thinking about moving Jade to it, so I can put all the female bettas I'll have in about two weeks in the 10 gallon. I'm still trying to think of how to reorganize all my tanks... as much as I hate to do that. Again. xP
I SWEAR, THESE ARE THE LAST FISH... I don't like moving them around! D:

I LOL'd at this.

I agree though...It could go very wrong if done wrong...but for one of us...

I think It has some really cool potential...I don't believe I would ever be skilled enough to do something like this though.

Hah... well, trial and error is what it'll take to get one of these done well, I suppose.
Even if there's tutorials online... there's only so much a tutorial can cover, and usually they don't do troubleshooting.
