What other fish for a 10gal?

Since two of my bettas that I have put in my ten gal at different times keep on disappearing im so sick of loosing them. My 8 other rasbora's are fine and dont seem to disappear. SO im wondering, what other fish can I put in this 10gal? Any sort of chichlid? (i love those) or Gourami? Id be totally fine with returning the rasbora's to make more room or something. This is a filtered/heated tank kept at 78-80F.

Here are some of the stocking idea's the interweb has come up with.. Opinions?

1 Male Honey Gourami, 6 Dwarf Rasboras, 4 Venezuelan Pygmy Corys
1 Male Sparkling Gourami, 2 Female Sparkling Gouramis, 4 Male Endler's Livebearers, 3 Venezuelan Pygmy Corys
1 Male Honey Gourami, 1 Female Honey Gourami, 4 Tail Spot Pygmy Cory, 4 Male Endler's Livebearers
6 Pygmy Hatchetfish, 5 Male Endler's Livebearers, 4 Venezuelan Pygmy Corys

I'm sorry I can't help you because I know nothing about stocking a tank but I'll bump this up to get you some answers.

You could do a honey or dwarf gourami and a small school/shoal of small fish, but a gourami and more than one species of schooling/shoaling fish would overstock a 10g. As for which kind to choose; I'm not sure. I don't have any experience with gouramis but I do know they tend to be sensitive, so you may want to avoid fast-moving fish and fin-nippers. A small species of cory would probably be a good fit.

Bettas and cories usually tend to get along ok; if you go this route, just keep a close eye on everything for a little while to make sure the betta isn't hostile toward the cories.
