also, I've had my snail for a few days and he hasn't appeared to eat anything either. Should I remove my snail since my betta is probably sick?

aaahhh!! No, you need aquarium salt. Not table salt, not sea salt, not rock salt, not marine salt. Aquarium Salt!

They should have it at Walmart. If you treat the whole tank, the snail will definitely have to come out. The salt could kill him.

Should I treat the whole tank? King Fishy has been in this tank for about 3 weeks to a month. I'm guessing the water could have the bacteria or what have you in it. I've got a 1 gal to put the snail in if it is smart to treat the entire tank.

I would treat the entire tank and then do 100% daily water changes with the aquarium salt for about a week. See if that doesn't help.

100% water changes daily in a 10 gal?! OH MY! How about I put the betta in the 1 gal. Do water changes in that one with the salt and do just one 100% water change in the 10 gal?

Do you have a way of floating the 1g in the 10g? You could do that so at least the 1g would be heated and your snail could be in the 10g w/o salt. Then after you finished treatment, I would do a 100% change on the 10g just to make sure nothing bad is still in there.

The only thing I have to QT the fish in the tank would be a large paper coffee cup. I'm not sure the betta would like such a small space.

Definitely switch him to the 1 gallon. I didn't realize you had that. It will be way easier for treatment. You could always stick the 1 gallon in the 10 gallon and tape it to the side.

The 1 gal is a big glass bowl. Like a goldfish bowl. It's waaaay too heavy to put in the 10 gal. I would think anyway.

What do I do after the 10 day treatment? Just put him back in the 10gal?

Do I treat him with anything other than the salt? Will the salt solve my problems?

Do I feed, or at least try to, while he's in the 1 gal bowl?
